Ministry Highlights

During January, we did a four-week sermon series called “Family Matters.” It focused on equipping and encouraging our families as they strive to lead their households closer to the Lord. I preached one of the messages, as well as create supplemental materials to be used in our small groups. The feedback from our congregation and the growth we have already seen in our families has been a huge blessing!

I was able to rejoice with our pastoral team as a man that many of us have been praying for became a child of God this month. God is so good!

Melanie and I had many great visits with our church body this month. It is great to be able to hear their stories, deepen our friendships, and bring them along in the future vision on our church. It was great to be able to bring our twin girls with us and have them take part in our ministry.

We had a great time of corporate prayer and worship with our entire church body on Jan. 10th. Our people were really encouraged and our time of worship was amazing.

Key Prayer Requests

Melanie and I had our interview with the pastoral search committee this month. We have been formally recommended to become part of the pastoral team here at Grace Bible. The church will be officially voting within the next few months.

Preparation for ordination this June.

I am traveling out to Lafayette, Indiana in February for Faith Church’s counseling conference. I’m asking for safe travels and a great week of learning.

Continued opportunities to minister to and serve our neighbors.

Prominent Lessons

While sermon prep and delivery is so important, it can be just a fraction of the ministry you have with people. You can bring God’s Word to people in so many other situations beside your sermon on Sunday morning.

Devotion to the Lord begins in your own private time, not in an outward display.

A short meaningful visit with someone can go a long way!

If we aren’t willing to equip people with what we call them to do, we are only doing half of our job as pastors.

Key Goals for the Next Month

Organize and oversee our sign-ups for our church directory.

Attend the Counseling Conference at Faith Church.

Revamp our membership class material.

Have a family over our home each week.

Ministry Highlights

Getting able to take the girls and go on visits with Dave has been a huge blessing.

We have added some more people to our Life Group. It has been awesome to see our group grow.

Key Prayer Requests

Our neighbor is going through a tough time. Pray that I will continue to have opportunities to bless her and be a beacon of light in her life.

Prominent Lessons

This month Dave and I were interviewed for a full-time pastoral position here at Grace Bible. I was anxious going in, but God gave both Dave and I a real sense of peace. The interview process was actually very enjoyable. It was so encouraging to hear them pray for our family! I was reminded of the privilege it is to serve with such sweet people.
