Ministry Highlights

This is our final month of the “official” internship! However, our internship really ended in July with the completion of my final project. It was a great experience! Here is the overview. I was interim pastor at Calvary Baptist Church of Alford for just over a year, and as of May, the church called their next full-time pastor. Also, as part of the internship, I was able to design and teach an undergrad online class for the Schoology LMS here at CSU (Theology II) and co-teach an on-campus class (Genesis). These have all been great experiences. This past month did not have any formal internship responsibilities, but it has been great transitioning back to our home church—Faith Baptist Church of Peckville—and serving there. I am now pursuing my Ph.D. here at BBS full-time.

Key Prayer Requests

Pray for my wife as she continues to learn her new role here at BBS and also as she serves as assistant coach for the women’s soccer team here at CSU. She has really enjoyed the chance to serve the team so far.

Prominent Lessons

My wife and I were able to go on our first week-long vacation since we’ve been married! It was very nice to celebrate the conclusion of the internship and all the responsibilities of it. We went to Camp-of-the-Woods, in Speculator, New York, for the first week of August.

Allie and I have been able to transition back to Faith Baptist Church. We started leading worship at FBC, and we’re looking forward to getting involved in various ways, such as Awana, in the coming weeks.

The church where we served , Calvary Baptist Church of Alford, invited us back up one weekend in August for an outreach event for the community. It was a great time to worship alongside the CBC church family. Additionally, it was an added joy to see that the church was doing well.  We honestly just loved the chance to spend time with the people we really care about. I’m excited for how the Lord will lead Pastor Jason and the CBC church family over the coming months and years!

Key Goals for the Next Month

Serve well at FBC. Awana will be starting this week, and Allie and I will be serving with the T & T group (third to sixth graders). We are excited.

I am planning to teach an online class beginning in October at CSU. I am now making the final preparations for the class.

Ministry Highlights

This month, I had the opportunity to share my testimony and internship experience at Seminary Wives Fellowship. It was nice to reflect on all that God has done over this past year and how he has worked in the hearts and lives of the body at Calvary Baptist Church of Alford. God is good and I am thankful that he gave Jared and I the opportunity to serve at the church as well as at CSU.

Key Prayer Requests

Transition for Calvary Baptist Church of Alford. They are looking for a worship leader.

Transition for Jared and and myself – going back to Faith Baptist Church of Peckville.

For Jared starting his Ph.D. studies full-time and that he may grow in his walk with the Lord.

Prominent Lessons

This past month, I read through the book of Romans. Through studying Romans, I learned that it is so easy to overlook God’s grace and mercy, however we must not forget all that God has done for us. We do not deserve the kindness and love that God has shown to us, and I thank God for his grace in letting us be a part of Calvary Baptist Church of Alford. It was definitely a stretching year for both of us but looking back, God has so blessed and it was a wonderful year of ministry.

Key Goals for the Next Month

Be intentional with my relationship with God, my husband and others.

Set aside time for prayer and Bible study.

Be joyful and thankful in every circumstance.

Reflect on God’s goodness and faithfulness in how he has led and will lead in the future.
