Heather Fornes

Associate Professor, Counseling | Director of Clinical Field Experience

Dr. Heather Fornes has been teaching in the counseling department since 2005 after earning her undergraduate and graduate degrees in counseling at CSU. She teaches many of the courses in the counseling core: ethics, human development, abnormal psychology, and the helping relationship. She oversees all of the counseling practicums and internships for the M.S.C. students.

Dr. Fornes has been a counselor with Foundations Christian Counseling Center since 2014. Using the counseling center, she loves watching students as they connect the dots from the classroom to the counseling office.

When she's not training and mentoring future counselors, Dr. Fornes enjoys spending time with her husband, walking or biking rail trails and hanging out with friends. Her favorite verse is Romans 12:12.

As a counselor, there are places I will never go and people I won't reach. However, training students as Christ-centered counseling professionals, I get to see my students go places and serve people I never could.
