Department Faculty - Residential, Baptist Bible Seminary
Associate Professor, Theology, English Bible, Apologetics
David Gunn began teaching Christian apologetics courses online in 2017, and in 2022 he joined BBS's residential faculty. He loves teaching students how Christianity isn’t just morally and philosophically true but also historically and factually true—and he loves seeing their love for Christ deepen.
Previously, Gunn served as the director of Regular Baptist Press and managing editor of the Baptist Bulletin. He also has experience in pastoral ministry having served local churches in California and Washington.
David and his wife, Sarah, have two children and enjoy board games, hiking and geocaching. He loves good coffee and Chicago-style pizza which, he says, is “incalculably superior to New York-style pizza.”
There is no greater endeavor in life--and no higher joy--than to know Jesus Christ and to make Him known. CSU equips students to do just that. It is a great joy and privilege not only to teach students about the truths of Scripture and Christian theology, but also (and more importantly) to deepen their love for Jesus Christ and equip them to share the life-giving message of His person and work with others all around them.
