Fundamental, focused, and fun, Big Blue Sports Camp is designed to improve your child’s athletic skills as well as grow their personal character. This sports camp is not your average day-camp experience; the skill development, enthusiastic approach to sport and life lessons learned will impact your child well beyond the camp experience!

Big Blue Basketball & Soccer 2021

Big Blue Camps are day camps for girls and boys entering first grade through eighth grade. Students are divided into age groups to learn in the best environment on campus at Clarks Summit University.


Big Blue Basketball Camp

June 28  July 2, 2021

Camp Directors

Coach Brian Deschaine

Before coming to Clarks Summit University as head men’s basketball coach, Brian Deschaine spent six years leading the men’s basketball team at Grace Christian Academy in Waldorf, Maryland. Under his leadership, the Knights won numerous regular season conference and tournament championships. Coach Deschaine’s teams have fared well outside of their conference, winning the Mid-East Regional Christian Schools Tournament in 2017 and earning Runner-up in the 2015 Division I Maryland Christian State Tournament.

A father of three young boys, Coach Deschaine got his coaching start at Harmony Christian School, where he led a successful high school boy’s program for four years. He also spent a year in Bangladesh at the William Carey Academy developing both boys’ and girls’ basketball programs. For three years, Clinton Christian School saw Deschaine at the helm of their boys’ basketball program, where they were ranked in the state and were both regular season and tournament champions.

As a four-year letter winner and a three-year starter, Deschaine played college basketball at Eastern Nazarene College, where he was a member of the 1996-97 ECAC Championship Team. Coach Deschaine graduated from Eastern Nazarene College with a B.A. in Psychology and earned his B.S and M.A. in Health and Physical Education from CSU.

Deschaine has worked beyond coaching as athletic director, director of student affairs, physical education teacher and secondary principal. He also spent 2001-2005 in the United States Army Reserves. 

Coach Jon-Eric Stiles

Born in Morehead, Kentucky, Stiles grew up with a passion for the game of soccer. An All-American in college, Jon-Eric Stiles graduated with a double major in Sports Management and Business Management with a minor in Biblical Studies.
Upon graduation, Stiles played semi-professional soccer with the Bux Mont Torch in the National Premier Soccer League. 
A coach since the age of 16, Stiles has coached all levels of youth soccer and started his professional coaching career as a graduate assistant at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. In the fall of 2019, Stiles was an assistant coach for the University of Valley Forge women’s soccer team before becominng the men’s head soccer coach and game day management coordinator at CSU.

Cost and Registration

$100 per athlete per camp

Registration includes:

  • Big Blue T-Shirt
  • Instruction and feedback from NCAA Division III coaches and players
  • Opportunity for campers tests their skills in drills and scrimmages
