Susan Cagley

Associate Professor, History, Social Studies

Susan Cagley has been teaching since 1984 and at CSU since 2001. Cagley teaches history courses and serves as a liaison for social studies education. Her passion is to train the next generation of teachers to reach people with perspective and hope through knowledge of the past.

Miss Cagley was born in Indiana but graduated from high school in Arkansas. Her father was a Christian school administrator, and she learned to explore the history of everywhere her family lived. She still loves history and is a member of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, American Battlefields Trust and the Lackawanna Historical Society.

Musically gifted, Miss Cagley plays the keyboard on the worship team at church and plays the harp as part of the Lead Serenity Harp Ensemble. She lives with her mother and rescue greyhound, Lexy, in a Victorian-style home, and she enjoys artistic hobbies such as doing counted cross-stitch and collecting hand-thrown pottery.

I am privileged to teach future teachers what I had been taught and learned in my own teaching. The students I teach will go farther and reach more people than I could in my own teaching. Therefore I seek to build into their lives a solid biblical philosophy of life (and history), and for those entering the teaching profession, I pass along life lessons and experiences from the classroom.
