Sarah Scranta

Associate Professor. English and Communications | Department Chair, English and Communications

Sarah Scranta joined CSU’s faculty in 2018 to teach English, writing, public speaking and literature. She enjoys encouraging her students as they hone their critical thinking and communication skills together.

Previously, Scranta taught at Abington Heights High School. As a speech and debate coach, she received the Diamond Coach of Outstanding Distinction within the National Speech and Debate Association.

When she's not teaching, Scranta volunteers in the children's ministry at her church, designs VBS crafts and enjoys building Legos with her family. Her favorite color is sunshine yellow, and she loves unsweetened iced tea with lots of lemon. Fun fact: As a college student, Scranta worked as a forklift operator!

I love working at an institution where colleagues and students pray for each other, encouraging and serving, while also maintaining a focus on academic excellence.
