James Buchanan
James Buchanan came to CSU in 2001 when his wife, Lynelle, became a resident director. In 2012, he began teaching Bible courses. He loves showing students how to develop a passion for Scripture through his classes. In 2021 he joined the Office for Student Development as the associate dean of students for men where he serves resident directors, resident assistants and male students through counseling, mentoring, discipleship and guidance.In 2023 he was named the dean of the School of Theology.
James has previously been a pastor and taught high school Bible, philosophy, math and Greek. His work has appeared in the Journal of Ministry and Theology.
He lives on campus in Fletcher Hall, where his wife, Lynelle, is the resident director. They have three children. In his free time, he enjoys golf, volleyball and board games.
