David Harris

Professor, Music

Dr. David Harris—affectionately known on campus as "Doc"—has been teaching at CSU since 1989.

Doc's passion is vocal music, but he also specializes in piano, guitar, mandolin and penny whistle. In addition to teaching, leading and worshiping with CSU students, he pastors at Grace Baptist Church of the Abington. Doc's philosophy is simple: “All of life is sacred for the Christian. All ground is holy ground, every bush is a burning bush.”

Doc grew up in Greenville, South Carolina, and after earning his doctorate from the University of Alabama, occasionally a "Roll Tide" can be heard from him. In his free time, he enjoys cycling and walking his pit bull, Kiefer. Harris and his wife, Connie, have three adult children.

I love working and serving at CSU because of the opportunity I’ve been given to disciple students, to make a difference in their lives and to experience the blessing of their making a difference in my life. I have the privilege to both worship with the students and teach them how to worship the Godhead in Spirit and in truth. Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost! Amen!
