CSU will award one full-tuition scholarship to a student who regularly attends a FBFA-member church. This scholarship can be used for eight consecutive semesters as a full-time resident student, provided the student continues in good standing at CSU.

The recipient will need to apply for this scholarship and will need to qualify for the scholarship by meeting the requirements of all financial aid as awarded by CSU including Christian testimony, financial need and satisfactory academic progress.

Dr. John McNeal is the founding and senior pastor of Atlanta Bible Baptist Church in Atlanta. He has recently completed 50 years of service as a pastor and 25 years of service as a member of the Board of Trustees of CSU. His wife Earlene McNeal has been a valuable encouragement to both her husband and the CSU family for this long time of service. “We are very thankful for the faithful connection the McNeal’s have made with CSU. This scholarship is a tangible reflection of their commitment to young people from the FBFA network of churches and their love for this university,” states Mel Walker, vice president for alumni and external relations.

The FBFA promotes fellowship between Bible-believing Baptist churches to foster the spirit of evangelism, spread the gospel and advance the cause of Christ through mutual efforts in Christian education and missions. “We greatly appreciate the positive relationship we have with the leadership team and the churches of the FBFA,” admits Walker.

CSU President Dr. Jim Lytle announced the scholarship at the 2016 FBFA Conference in Indianapolis. The first Dr. John & Earlene McNeal Scholarship is planned to be awarded to a student who plans to begin his or her studies in the fall of 2017 and must be someone that is accepted as a CSU student before April 1, 2017.

Qualifying students can apply for the John & Earlene McNeal Scholarship online. The recipient of this award will be announced Monday, April 17, 2017.
