Celebrating the Classes of 2020 and 2021
Clarks Summit University is committed to celebrating the accomplishments of our 2020 and 2021 graduates with in-person Commencement ceremonies. To adhere to Pennsylvania COVID-19 guidelines for gathering size, we will accomplish this by holding multiple ceremonies for our graduates, grouped by areas of study. The ceremonies will be held over multiple days, from Thursday, April 29 through Saturday, May 1, 2021.
Due to the nature of this year’s events, we will not conduct a Commencement rehearsal.
Tickets will be required and limited. More information is below.

April 30 | Friday - 4 p.m.
- Undergraduate Majors: Bible/Theology, Christian Ministries, Education Ministries, Intercultural Studies, Intercultural Youth Ministries, Pastoral Ministries, Specialized Ministries, Youth Ministries
- Graduate Degrees: Master of Arts - Bible, Master of Arts - Organizational Leadership, Master of Arts in Literature, Master of Education
April 30 | Friday - 7 p.m.
- Undergraduate Majors: Addictions Counseling, Counseling, Counseling Ministries, Criminal Justice
- Graduate Degrees: Master of Arts - Counseling, Master of Science in Counseling
May 1 | Saturday - 10 a.m.
- Undergraduate Majors: Biology, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Integrated Studies, Mathematics, Sports/Health Science-Physical Therapy, Sports Management
May 1 | Saturday - 1 p.m.

Tickets & Seating
Tickets will be required this year due to current Pennsylvania occupancy restrictions. Each student will be able to secure a limited number of tickets. More information on how to request those or be placed on a waiting list has been emailed to all graduates. All guests, regardless of age, will need a ticket.
UPDATE (4.7.2021). There is a limited number of tickets available on the waitlist for each ceremony. To request tickets, please visit https://clarkssummitu.wufoo.com/forms/commencement-tickets-waitlist/.
Doors to the Recreation Center will be open one-half hour before each ceremony. There are no reserved seats.
Seating for Young Children
An auxiliary room served by video will be designed for young children. No nursery supervision will be provided, however. Please be courteous of our graduates and their achievement by taking advantage of this room.
Seating for Disabled Individuals
The entrance to the Recreation Center is at ground level. There is an elevator available for anyone with need. Please contact the Commencement Coordinator if you require special seating by Friday, April 23.
Security will be on duty to assist with parking needs. Please allow extra time for parking as you plan for arrival as guests will be leaving and arriving at various time with the numerous ceremonies.

Visiting the Area

We also ask our out-of-state visitors to adhere to the various state travel restrictions as you enter Pennsylvania and return home.
Information for Graduates
The registrar’s office will order all regalia. Information for pick-up is below.
Soon-to-be graduates still on-campus this semester or local graduates: Please go to Kristen Miller’s office in the Academic Office (Jackson Hall third floor) to pick-up your regalia and tickets. The dates and times are as follows:
* Tuesday, April 20 through Tuesday, April 27 | 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
When you go to her office, be prepared to sign your name as well as confirm your information (address, phone, and email). You will also pick up your tickets at that time. We ask that all students that are presently on campus and local graduates use these times to pick up your regalia. And please pick it up as early as possible so you can try your gown on and make sure everything is correct. We also ask that you be flexible if she needs to step away from her desk at times.
Graduates coming into town for ceremonies:
We will have your regalia and tickets in the REC activities room (mezzanine level) on the following days and times:
* Thursday, April 29 | 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
* Friday, April 30 | 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 2:00 p.m.
We realize that some of you may not be here at these times before your ceremonies. Please contact the Commencement Coordinator to make arrangements.
Graduation products can be ordered at www.jostens.com. Search for Clarks Summit University at the top left of the website. Products include personalized announcements and thank you notes. Diploma frames with custom matting and the Clarks Summit University seal are also available for ordering. Custom rings with the university name and seal are offered and can be customized with major and degree. There will be a virtual ring event where rings are discounted. Information will be sent to graduate emails.
Commencement Dress for Graduates
This is a formal event, so it is expected that graduates dress according. General guidelines would be modest attire.
Ladies are expected to wear a dress or skirt of appropriate length or dressy pants. Please do not wear flip-flops, casual/athletic shoes, or shorts.
Men are expected to wear a dress shirt and pants along with a tie. Dress shoes and socks are appropriate for this kind of an occasion, while a jacket is not required. Please do not wear athletic wear, sneakers, shorts, or jeans.
