Clarks Summit University Campus & Region

Welcome to our Campus!

Named the “Most Beautiful Bible College in the Country” in 2017 by Christian Universities Online, our campus is in suburban South Abington Township nestled among the hills on more than 111 acres of beautiful, Pennsylvanian woodland. The 111-acre campus includes a four-acre lake, residence halls, café, academic buildings rich in architecture and a Recreation Center. You’ll love playing sports on our open quad, soccer field and baseball diamond or simply taking a stroll around the beautiful grounds with friends. At the Phelps Student Center, you’ll find the cafeteria, main-stage theatre production space, Huckaby gymnasium, game room and spaces to meet up with friends.

Visit us!

We agree. Our campus is the most beautiful you’ll find at any Bible college in the nation. But don’t take our word for it. Come see for yourself!

If you’re a potential undergraduate or graduate student, please schedule a campus visit.

If you’re a potential Baptist Bible Seminary student, please schedule a campus visit.

You’ll Love Living Here.

Our suburban campus is about 10 miles from Scranton, the largest city in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre region ranks among the safest metro areas in the nation.

Here you’ll find rich history, friendly neighborhoods and reasonable cost of living. And it’s all easily accessible to the greater Mid-Atlantic region by car, bus or airplane.

Enjoy day or weekend trips to the city, since our campus is within a short drive or bus ride to major metropolitan areas like New York City and Philadelphia.

Without driving far, you’ll also find quaint towns, scenic countrysides, all-season outdoor adventures and small-city shopping and culture. The local events scene is packed with arts events, professional sports, fairs and festivals. Just minutes away, you can grab a bite to eat and discover local shopping right in Clarks Summit.

CSU partners with many local churches and nonprofit organizations, so you’ll find plenty of ways to get involved in the community and give back, practicing hands-on ministry around your collegiate home.

Many hotels and lodging options are available nearby.  Mention that you are coming to Clarks Summit University, and you may get a special rate, depending on availability.

Campus Highlights

Jackson Hall
Jackson Hall’s unique architecture beautifully reflects its rich history. Once the main academic building of the Venard Maryknoll Preparatory College, Jackson Hall now houses the Murphy Memorial Library, our administrative offices, mail center, computer lab, science lab and most classrooms.

The Recreation Center
Completed in 2013, this 62,000-square-foot Recreation Center is open for student and public use. Highlights include a one-ninth-mile track, basketball courts, cardio rooms, stage, batting cage, classrooms, climbing wall and weight and cardio rooms featuring Precor exercise equipment. Students gather here for weekday chapel.

The Phelps Student Center
Named after long-time Clarks Summit University trustee Russell Phelps, the Phelps Student Center is a focal point of campus activity. It contains the Huckaby Gymnasium, training room, locker rooms, cafeteria, game room, snack bar and stage. Many student activities, athletic events, meals and theatrical productions take place in the student center.

The Residence Halls
Most of our undergraduate students live on campus in Clarks Summit University’s 12 residence halls. Intentionally designed to encourage positive relationship building, each three-floor hall is made up of three-bedroom, one-bath suites accommodating six students. Residence halls include a laundry room, a resident director’s apartment and three lounges where students can enjoy socializing, floor meetings, devotions and group study sessions.

Buckingham Hall
Clarks Summit University’s oldest building houses our Music Department. Besides its main classroom and faculty offices, Buckingham boasts several well-equipped practice rooms for musicians.

The Underground Café
Transformed from an old apple and tool storage shed to a trendy coffee shop, the Underground Café is a favorite hangout.
