Summer on the Summit

Summer on the Summit

Three major events punctuate the Clarks Summit University summer calendar and bring thousands of attendees from all over the country to our Northeast Pennsylvania campus.

LYFE Women’s Conference 2023

Since 1983, women have been coming to LYFE  to be immersed in solid biblical teaching and soul-filling fellowship. From June 2-3, 2023, LYFE will encourage women to Live Your Faith Everyday.

Lina AbuJamra, the 2023 LYFE featured speaker, is a pediatric ER doctor now practicing telemedicine. She’s the founder of Living With Power Ministries who wants to bring hope to the world by connecting biblical answers to everyday life. She is the author of several books including her most recent, “Fractured Faith: Finding your Way Back to God in an Age of Deconstruction.”

Comedian Anita Renfroe is the guest entertainer. With her unique brand of estrogen-flavored musical comedy and slightly offbeat takes on all things female, Renfroe just tells it like it is.

Attendees will enjoy delicious meals, optional accommodations on the beautiful CSU campus and time making memories with dear friends.

Lynze Mewhort, director of LYFE, said, “our biggest desire is to serve God by loving the women who attend LYFE and providing all we can to support them on their faith journey.” She continued, “this year will be full of penetrating Bible study, inspiring stories and sharing life and laughter with one another, which is so filling. I want LYFE to be a place where women can come from wherever they are and have their ‘cup’ filled.”

ManUp! Men’s Event

At Man Up! on May 19–20, 2023, Men will hit the pause button on their daily grind and recharge spiritually. They will eat well, recharge, learn from God’s Word and even help with a service project during this jam-packed experience. Attendees will come to the CSU campus after work on Friday and get home in time for dinner on Saturday—refreshed and ready to Man Up for Christ.

The main speaker Dave Dravecky is a former professional baseball player for the San Diego Padres and the San Francisco Giants.

Paul Golden, the event’s director, said, “Man Up! has proven to be a great annual 18-hour event for men—both young and old—to get away, gear up and give back. I am so excited that former All-Star Dave Dravecky is our speaker— he’s an engaging communicator. You will be encouraged as you hear his incredible story of surviving cancer. These 18 hours together at Man Up! are a great shot in the arm spiritually. Join us!”

The event also includes a delicious dinner, a man-sized brunch, a sundae bar, Recreation Center use including basketball courts and The Crag rock climbing wall, time to spend on the scenic CSU campus including the Creation Walk and fishing in the pond (bring your own gear) as well as optional on-campus overnight accommodations. This is a great opportunity for church men’s groups, friends or fathers and sons to get away together and focus on their faith.

Teen Leadership Conference

God calls and equips young people to follow Him. That is why Teen Leadership Conference helps students become leaders in their churches and communities. From July 10-15, 2023, teens will receive biblically saturated teaching, choose interactive workshops, participate in vibrant worship and round out each day with plenty of activities and games. Youth leaders will enjoy sessions to help them deepen their ministry with the students in their care. Every part of TLC helps students and their youth leaders engage, edify and encourage one another to become biblical leaders.

Conference director Nate Mewhort believes the CSU students who work the conference will grow from the experience. He continues, “I also pray that the teenagers and youth leaders who attend are challenged and encouraged to press on in their relationship with Jesus, no matter what trials may come.”
