2022 Alumni Awards

2022 Alumni Awards

Since 1932, more than 17,000 people have earned undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees from Clarks Summit University. They join an ever-growing global family of Clarks Summit University alumni serving in all 50 states and in more than 70 foreign countries.

From those alumni, a select few are chosen every year as recipients of CSU’s Alumni Awards. This year, the 2022 award winners will be celebrated during Homecoming: Alumni & Family Weekend. Pastor Mark Willey (‘77), 2022 Outstanding Service Award winner, will speak during chapel on Alumni Day, Friday, September 30, at 9 a.m. The Alumni Awards Ceremony will immediately follow.

CSU’s Alumni Awards highlight some of the many alumni who serve in ministry and steward their gifts and abilities to bring glory to God. Nominations are made by CSU alumni, and winners are selected by the CSU Alumni Association Council.

This year’s winners are:

Steve Viars (’82), 2022 Alumnus of the Year

Mark (’92, ’97) and Nanette (’92) Fitch, 2022 Outstanding Service Award

Susan Hossack (’89), 2022 Outstanding Service Award

Mike Show (’92), 2022 Outstanding Service Award

Mark Willey (’77), 2022 Outstanding Service Award

Joseph Gonzalez (’19), 2022 Young Alumnus of the Year

Paul Golden, executive director of alumni and development, said, “The annual Alumni Awards ceremony is one of the highlights of the year here at CSU. It is a chance for us to honor specific alumni who are making a difference in the world for Jesus Christ. They are truly representative of the thousands of CSU alumni who are serving Him faithful in a variety of careers and ways.”

Clarks Summit University invites all alumni and friends of the school to join them on September 30–October 1 for Homecoming: Alumni and Family Weekend. Alumni Day on September 30 includes not only a special chapel service and the Alumni Awards ceremony; it also features a food truck lunch and the Athletics Hall of Honor Ceremony. On Saturday, October 1, the festivities continue with Defender volleyball and soccer games as well as a block party with lawn games and food for sale from campus residence halls and organizations.
