National Author David Barton to Speak at CSU’s Day of Prayer

Published January 17, 2017

David Barton, national author, speaker and historian, will speak in chapel at CSU on Day of Prayer, January 31. The 10 a.m. chapel service, held in the Recreation Center on CSU’s South Abington Township campus, will be broadcast on WRGN. The appearance is one of three events Barton will headline in Pennsylvania that day.

David Barton

Barton is the founder and president of Wallbuilders, a national organization that presents America’s forgotten history and heroes, with an emphasis on the country’s moral, religious and constitutional heritage. The author of numerous best-selling books, he serves as a consultant to state and federal legislators. He has participated in several cases at the Supreme Court and was involved in the development of the history/social studies standards for states such as Texas and California.

“Time Magazine” named him as one of “The 25 Most Influential Evangelicals in America,” and described him “a hero to millions – including some powerful politicians. He and his wife Cheryl reside in Texas.

Renewal for NEPA

The chapel service will kick off the regional event “Renewal for NEPA.” Barton will be speaking at each event, joined by Representative Sam Roher, president of the American Pastors Network.

After chapel, the day continues with the NEPA Christian Leaders Luncheon at noon at the Clarks Green Assembly of God Church in Clarks Green. Tickets for the spaghetti lunch are $10.

The Make America Pray Again Conference will conclude the day at 7 p.m. at The Door Fellowship Church in Williamsport. While there is no charge for this event, tickets are recommended to ensure seating.
